New year new haircut?

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and got everything stuffed in your sack from Santa that you wished for?!

Now it's the 27th I'm already getting itchy feet for the New Year and a fresh look ahead and what better way than getting a new haircut?

I've slowly been getting my hair cut shorter and shorter but am now falling in love with something a bit more drastic.

This was me back in June. Long enough for plaits!

Then I started to get it cut.
The shorter styles seemed to go hand in hand with losing a few more pounds. Coincidence?

My latest cut above still allows me to let my hair out and fall over my ears but now I'm eyeing up the following styles...

Not so drastic as a first step?

Bit of a girl crush with Michelle Williams but love the choppiness above and the angles below.

And I absolutely love the short undercut on Ginnifer Goodwin.

...yes, I know, I have curls and waves so it wouldn't look exactly like the above images. My hair is thick and with a good choppy cut can hold a short style well - I had short hair throughout my teenage years - and am well aware of what it can and cannot take.

So, what do you think? Would you go short? Shorter? I don't have a cute button nose so can my not-so-delicate features take such a drastic cut?!

Do let me know your thoughts.

  1. What I noticed in your pictures was that you look younger as your hair gets shorter so I would say go for it (although please don't blame me if it looks horrible!). Even if it was a disaster it wouldn't take long to grow it back to where you have it now.

    1. Ha, really?! My hair does grow fast which would be good for growing out but also a pain for maintaining it and keeping it short!

  2. I actually rather like the style you have at the moment, but then I'm just a straight, married guy with kids ( both boys ) what do I know about hair? :-)

  3. I LOVE the new short hair! As a fellow curly girl I've let mine grow really long so it's ready to your back with the baby but I'd love to be brave enough to go for the chop - perhaps when I start losing thr baby weight! X

  4. Love the shorter hair, would love mine short again but being poker straight it can be hard work.

  5. The shorter hair looks fabulous! You'd totally rock the style in the photo above Michelle Williams x

  6. I love how it is now. The shorter style does make you look younger but I also like something to put behind my ears so I'd stop here.

  7. I think the shorter styles really suit you. I used to vow that once I had lost the weight I wanted to I would get my hair cut short.

Best of luck wiht whatever you decide, I think you'll look fab anyway.
